To use the records retention tool, including Record of Processing Activity (RoPA), you need to be signed in as a member of an organisation subscribed to the LG Inform Plus programme.
The retention tool gives guidance on retaining records for legal and business reasons for each service. You can review that guidance on screen or download it in a spreadsheet or a rich text document.
RoPA tools provide a template you can download detailing record types your authority may collect and process. The template contains blank columns for each record type which can be filled in to create a RoPA, by uploading the completed template. Alternatively you can view, add and amend RoPA information in an online form.
Subscriptions to the LG Inform Plus programme help fund maintenance of the guidance and the standard lists. Your organisation may already be subscribed. If so, just sign in to access retention guidance. If not, see the subscription benefits page, which tells you how to subscribe.
