Comply with the DPA 2018 by managing a RoPA for your organisation

The LG Inform Plus Record of Processing Activity (RoPA) modules helps authorities comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

What is RoPA?

A Record of Processing Activity (RoPA) is a record that all organisations are required by the Data Protection Act 2018. It should contain details of all data containing personal information that the organisation keeps and/or processes.

Why maintain a RoPA?

Councils who collect and process personal data are now required by the Data Protection Act 2018 to create and maintain a 'Record of Processing Activity' detailing any personal data, and special data, they process and what they are doing with that data.

The RoPA module will help authorities create, manage and store a local RoPA based on advice and guidance from legal experts, thus promoting your organisation's compliance with the 2018 Regulations.

How does it work?

  1. Use our retention guidance to download a template showing record types containing personal data your authority may collect and process.
  2. Complete the template then upload it here. We'll store it for you, as well as generating privacy notices that you can share.

Alternatively you can add and amend RoPA information in an online form.

Retention information is provided for guidance only. You must check requirements with your council’s own legal team.
